Who are we? We the Sons of Confederate Veterans are an organization dedicated to preserving the history and legacy of Confederate Heroes, so future generations may understand the motives that galvanized the Southern Cause. The SCV is the direct successor of the United Confederate Veterans, and the oldest hereditary organization for male descendants of Confederate Soldiers. Organized at Richmond, Virginia, in 1896, the SCV continues to serve as a historical, patriotic and non-political organization dedicated to ensuring that a true history of the 1861-1865 period is preserved. Membership in the Sons of Confederate Veterans is open to all male descendants of any veteran who served honorably in the Confederate armed forces.
Membership can be obtained through either direct or collateral family lines and kinship to a veteran must be documented genealogically. The minimum age for membership is 12. If you are interested in perpetuating the ideals that motivated your Confederate ancestor, the SCV needs you. The memory and reputation of the Confederate soldier, as well as the motives for his suffering and sacrifice, are being consciously distorted by some in an attempt to alter history. A unique part of our nation's cultural heritage will cease to exist unless the descendants of Southern soldiers resist those efforts.
If you have a Confederate ancestor, and are interested in becoming a member of our or any SCV Camp please come on down to our monthly meeting and find out what were all about.
A special note of thanks and gratitude to Commander Steve Parnell for his many years of hard work and service to the Dunn-Holt-Midkiff Camp 1441. We want to extend you and Tre our best wishes as you begin this new chapter in your life.

Confederate Flag Day March 3rd

Tom Owens

With our deepest sympathy and regret this website is dedicated to the memory of Tom Owens. Tom was the current Adjutant, and former Commander of SCV Camp 1441. Tom passed away un-expectantly on April 19, 2016. A true Gentleman and friend, who was respected by all, and who will be greatly missed.

"As long as there is a Southern breeze the St. Andrews Flag will fly in it"
